I wanted to get a Corsair mouse because I was tired of other brands. I was super excited to get a wireless mouse. Corsair with their other brands seemed like the way I should go. I got it and on the first inspection, it was pretty good. It’s a little heavy but it wasn’t a game-breaker. I plugged it in, and went to Corsair’s website to download the latest updates. You and download the update endlessly. It never tells you if you have the latest drivers. So I realise this and assume, I will never know if I actually have the latest updates. Then the real problem is it’s like the mouse only connects with the receiver in the computer intermittently. To go across my two screens, the cursor stops 4 times or more. Very annoying and makes the mouse unusable. Then there is NOT remembering the cursor speed and having to redo the cursor speed again and again every time you start your computer.

A terrific product by Corsair that ticks all the right boxes. This is actually the cheapest Wired+Wireless+BT mouse available readily in India. At full price the Basilisk X Hyperspeed is priced similarly so it’s a tougher choice, but I got it for ₹3,599 on sale which was a great deal.

Coming to the performance of the mouse itself, pairing it on BT works without a hassle – though be aware that Corsair’s iCUE software won’t be able to control the settings on Bluetooth. You need to plug in the Wireless dongle or use Wired mode to setup the mouse with the iCUE software. The guy saying you cannot control the DPI settings is an idiot, you can set 5 dpi values in the iCUE software with any range between them. (I currently have 400,1000,1600,3000,5000 set) And yes it can go upto 10,000 DPI if you set it so – but only a psychopath would do that. You can control the RGB from iCUE or turn it off entirely. Once you apply your settings, the mouse stores it onto its memory and you can use it in Bluetooth mode with the settings. However, I dislike the iCUE software – it looks gross and many people have said it drains battery constantly.

Personally, I played the Outer Worlds in Bluetooth mode and it performed admirably, so no worries over excessive latency. It’s even smoother in Slipstream 2.4ghz mode but consumes more battery. You can switch modes seamlessly with a button below the mouse. And yes, the dongle can be stored within the mouse itself.

The Battery life has been stellar – I’ve been using it almost a week without the need to charge it.

If you went into depth about Ergonomics – it isn’t the lightest mouse in the world but pretty light considering the battery is built-in. It is absolutely NOT suited for Palm Grip due to its compact shape and open buttons – the Basilisk X would be a better choice for Palm Grip users. I’m one of those users who adjusts their grip according to their mouse, so a Claw Grip feels the mouse comfortable on this mouse and maybe a Fingertip Grip comes a close second. The Scroll wheel feels pretty good to me and the middle click is good enough. Side buttons are sorta poorly designed according to me, so take into consideration if you use those often.

All in all – this is a terrific product from Corsair, the compromises are acceptable as long as it’s that much cheaper when it’s on sale.

I am writing a review of any product after long time. I felt compelled to write review of Corsair Harpoon RGB Wireless Mouse since I genuinely love this mouse. Earlier I was using Logitech G603 Wireless Mouse. It was good mouse, but it started giving issue with button after 1 year of usage. So I gave it for replacement to Logitech. However due to shortage of replacement products at Logitech and almost 2 months of wait for replacement, I decided to buy another mouse. I wanted mouse which is for gaming and wireless connectivity. After going through reviews of several other brands, I came across this one. I was hesitant at first since it had mixed reviews. But during Diwali Sale, I got this for Rs. 3290 (usual price Rs. 4500+). After using it for a while, I am really impressed with everything about this mouse. I found following advantages of this mouse:
    1) It works wireless in two modes: Slipstream Wireless mode (which is as good as wired connectivity and Bluetooth mode. Hence I can use this mouse with Desktop, Laptop, Mobile and TV.
    2) It also works in wired mode. It comes with cable which not only charges the battery of mouse, but also offers wired connectivity in case you are low on juice. Logitech G603 did not have this advantage.
    3) Battery life is pretty decent too. Also mouse goes in sleep mode to conserve the battery when it’s not in use for long time and you forget to turn it OFF.
    4) RGB – Its cherry on top, supports 16+ million colors which can be synced with iCUE software.
    Disadvantages:
    1) It’s probably heavier mouse for competitive gamers, so can’t comment on that. But I felt it’s adequate for leisure gamers like me and as well for work.
    2) Button clicks are louder, so may not be for people who enjoy quiet gaming.
    3) Mouse has normal rubber scroll. Infinite scroll would have been great addition.
So overall, I think its best, value for money, all-rounder mouse.
Update after 3+ months of usage: No issues with functionality of mouse so far, but disappointed with mouse button’s top surface getting smoothed out (refer to attached photo) after just 3+ months of usage of hardly few hours of gaming in this time. Not expected the same from mouse costs Rs. 4600 at this time. So if you care about aesthetics of mouse and you are competitive gamer, do not buy this. It will lose out its pretty looks in just matter of months. Looks are secondary for me, so sticking to it for now, but reduced one star.

Great mouse, had the harpoon rgb pro and loved it so decided to get the wireless model. Mouse it good as mentioned before but my mouse came with a shell that’s moves around a bit and makes some creaking sounds when pushing slightly on the top. Besides this issue great mouse, just be lucky and don’t get a qc issue.

Edit: after a little use found the right click to have a fair amount of post travel, again most likely qc problem so hopefully they step that aspect up a bit. Little disappointed with the shell and click problem but both could potentially be fixed by taking it apart and righting shell and click.

  5. Person who reviews

Setup was a breeze. Lack of onboard memory is a bummer. My hands are above average and I feel it’s a bit small (used an M65 before). Even though reviews say latency is almost equal between wired and wireless, I noticed better stability in fast movements using wired mode, only for competitive gaming though.
